Field Development Strategies
Early definition of the ‘best’ field development strategy is crucial during the Appraise and Select phases of a project; this is where most value can be added. ode has extensive experience in working with Operators to identify potential development options, undertake early screening analyses (often using FLOS, an in-house screening tool) and mature the option(s) through to the Define Phase. This experience ranges from small subsea tie-back or minimum facilities developments through to larger multi-well field developments which may include, platforms, FPSO, TLP or Spar type facilities for deep water fields.
ode remains independent of fabrication interests or construction assets thus providing complete impartiality. It has, however, wide ranging experience of numerous projects covering detailed design, fabrication, installation and start-up through operations and finally decommissioning and abandonment.
Examples of the types of services provided include:
- working with subsurface teams to optimise recovery;
- system flow assurance studies
- definition of development options;
- technical studies (subsea, ESPs, control buoys, etc);
- facilities re-use evaluation;
- cost estimating and economic modelling (through to decommissioning);
- safety and risk analyses;
- optimisation of future operating regimes;
- early consents and compliance services;
- FDP and EIA/ES preparation;
- contracting strategies and contracts preparation;
- assistance in partner liaison and third party negotiations;
