We currently have an opportunity for a Construction Engineer based in our Great Yarmouth Office.

The Role

  • Manage the implementation of construction and pre-commissioning activities within project budget and schedule.
  • Compile / participate in Risk Assessments
  • Constructability reviews
  • Compilation / Checking of workpacks
  • Construction preparation and co-ordination of personnel, materials and equipment
  • Estimating and planning input

Scope of Responsibilities:

Organisation and Resources

  • Site / Offshore surveys
  • Constructability reviews and input into the design
  • Construction preparation and co-ordination of personnel, sub contractors, third parties, materials and equipment
  •  Compile / participate in Risk Assessments
  • Estimating man hours using company norms and scheduling of the activities for the project plan
  • Raising of requisitions
  • Compilation or the checking of work packs
  • Compilation of desk top risk assessments / participation in Risk assessment meetings
  • Carry out readiness reviews
  • Management of construction activities through Site/Offshore Supervision
  • Client liaison
  • Site/Offshore visits during construction phase including conducting sample inspections on completed works and record by countersigning completion records
  • Ensure any deviations from the original work scope are captured on a technical / site query and approved by the project manager before implementing
  • Input into project change notices
  • Ensure any specific requirements of the Project Quality Plan are adhered to
  • Liaise regularly with on-site Client / OIM and ODE Supervision to provide updates and obtain feedback
  • Familiarisation of ODE procedures

Finance and Commercial

  • Contractual awareness
  • Reporting of deviations, project change notices
  • Review of site/offshore timesheets
  • Contractual awareness of third party / subcontractor contracts

Production and Efficiency

  • Review / issue Daily Reports
  • Efficient use of man power
  • Monitor hire equipment
  • Monitor progress against schedule

Safety and Environmental Related Tasks

Safety, Health, Environment and Quality

  • Familiarity with legislation such as Health and Safety at Work, COSHH, HAV, Manual Handling Operations, PUWER, LOLER, WAH, PPE
  • Set safety expectations for construction team and conduct routine site safety inspections. Stop the job if necessary
  • Leading by example to maintain a strong SHEQ culture through visible safety leadership
  • Request support from onshore SHEQ advisor where required.

Participate in accident and incident investigations as required
