We currently have an opportunity for a Lifting Supervisor/Rigger based in our Great Yarmouth Office.

The Role

  • Safely manage the execution of all lifting activities
  • Compile / participate in Risk Assessments
  • Compilation of lifting plans
  • Construction preparation

Scope of Responsibilities:

Organisation and Resources

  • Supervision of the lifting activities in accordance with the lifting plans and permit requirements
  • Discuss the work scope with the client and where necessary raise the appropriate permits required to execute the works.
  • Conduct work in line with the requirements of the workpacks and project plan.
  • Ensure all lifting equipment are controlled and managed. This includes ensuring incoming and outgoing manifests are checked, regular inspection checks are completed and the hire register is maintained.
  • Ensure valid certification has been received for all equipment supplied.
  • Liaise regularly with on-site Client / OIM to provide updates and obtain feedback
  • Compile desk top Risk Assessments
  • Compilation of Lifting Plans
  • Construction preparation and readiness
  • Familiarisation of ODE procedures

Finance and Commercial

  • Reporting of deviations

Production and Efficiency

  • Efficient use of man power
  • Offshore management of hire equipment

Safety and Environmental Related Tasks

Safety, Health, Environment and Quality

  • Familiarity with legislation such as Health and Safety at Work, COSHH, HAV, Manual Handling Operations, PUWER, LOLER, WAH, PPE
  • Set safety expectations for the lifting team
  • Ensure work is conducted in line with site procedures and adheres to permit / risk assessment control measures
  • Leading by example to maintain a strong SHEQ culture through visible safety leadership.
  • Hold toolbox talks and ensure all personnel are fully briefed on the lifting plan
  • Conduct additional risk assessments where changes to situations or scopes dictate.
  • Ensure personnel use correct PPE and exposure to noise, harmful substances and vibration etc are correctly monitored.
  • Report any incidents / accidents to the ODE Supervisor
