We currently have an opportunity for a Piping/Structural Supervisor based in our Great Yarmouth Office.

The Role

  • Safely manage the implementation of construction and pre-commissioning activities within project budget and schedule ensuring accurate mechanical & commissioning completion and handover records are compiled
  • Compile / participate in Risk Assessments
  • Compilation of workpacks
  • Construction preparation

Scope of Responsibilities:

Organisation and Resources

  • Supervision of the work force
  • Discuss the work scope with the client and where necessary raise the appropriate permits required to execute the works
  • Conduct work in line with the requirements of the workpacks and project plan.
  • Ensure all relevant mechanical & commissioning completion certificates are correctly completed and signed by the client representative including agreed punchlist(s)
  • Conduct sample inspections on completed works and record by countersigning completion records
  • Ensure any deviations from the original workscope are captured on a technical / site query and approved by the project manager before implementing.
  • Ensure all relevant drawings are signed and dated “as-built”
  • Ensure any specific requirements of the Project Quality Plan are adhered to.
  •  Ensure all project materials, consumables, equipment and tools are managed. This includes ensuring incoming and outgoing manifests are checked, regular stock checks are completed and the hire register is maintained
  • Ensure valid certification has been received for all equipment supplied
  • Ensure equipment and materials being back loaded are manifested
  • Liaise regularly with on-site Client / OIM to provide updates and obtain feedback
  • Compile desk top Risk Assessments
  • Compilation of workpacks

  • Familiarisation of ODE procedures

Finance and Commercial

  • Offshore Job Card Progress Reporting
  • Reporting of deviations
  • Compilation of timesheets
  • Contractual awareness of third party contracts

Production and Efficiency

  • Daily Reports
  • Efficient use of man power
  • Offshore management of hire equipment
  • Tracking of non productive man hours
  • Preparation of activities in advance to ensure smooth transition of work force from one task to the next

Safety and Environmental Related Tasks

Safety, Health, Environment and Quality

  • Familiarity with legislation such as Health and Safety at Work, COSHH, HAV, Manual Handling Operations, PUWER, LOLER, WAH, PPE
  • Set safety expectations for construction team and conduct routine site safety inspections. Stop the job if necessary
  • Ensure work is conducted in line with site procedures and adheres to permit / risk assessment control measures
  • Leading by example to maintain a strong SHEQ culture through visible safety leadership
  • Hold daily toolbox talks and ensure all personnel are fully briefed on their workscope
  • Conduct additional risk assessments where changes to situations or scopes dictate.
  • Ensure personnel use correct PPE and exposure to noise, harmful substances and vibration etc are correctly monitored
  • Manage working hours and monitor the ongoing welfare of the construction team
  • Request support from onshore SHEQ advisor where required.
  • Report any incidents / accidents to site representative (Client, OIM) and ODE Project Manager and complete the appropriate reports
  • The listing of main responsibilities and main duties is not necessarily exhaustive and may be changed at management discretion to reflect the needs of the company
  • Participate in accident and incident investigations as required
