Andy Baker running the Los Angeles Marathon 20th March 2011 - Fundraising for CRY & Epilepsy UK

20th March 2011

On the 20th March 2011 following six months of training (mainly in the dark and rain), 12 hour flight and various logistical challenges we were looking forward to running the LA Marathon with the hope of a little bit of sunshine. Unfortunately, this was not to be as the heavens opened at mile 3 and continued to rain for the remainder! We had brought the British weather with us and we were perfectly prepared!

It was a fantastic experience and with the brilliant support of everyone at ode and friends & family we were able to raise £4619.30 (+ gift aid) for Cardiac Risk in the Young and £310 for Epilepsy Research UK. We were really pleased to meet our target time of under 4hrs 30 mins with a time of 4hrs 24mins.

It has been an amazing running journey and I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported us and made it the real tribute to Rob and Rachel that we had hoped.

Regards
Andy Baker
