ODE's multi-discipline team of engineers and specialist consultants works across engineering centres in Wimbledon, Great Yarmouth, Aberdeen and Cairo.
The shared resource supports a consistent approach to our consulting, engineering, project management and operations support services, drawing on engineers and support staff who have experience throughout the project life-cycle. This leads to cost effective and innovative solutions that, most importantly, are practical, constructible and operable.
The high proportion of highly experienced staff personnel reflects the objectives of ODE's business - to assign quality, experienced resources that are reliable, competent and generate value for our clients in whatever work environment they are in. ODE also has a strong graduate recruitment programme, a commitment to training and development and enforces a rigorous competency assessment programme.
"I joined ODE straight after graduating from university and it has surpassed all my expectations. I wanted a role that would utilise my skills in maths and physics, whilst making an impact in today’s society via the Energy industry - ODE was the clear choice. The company is full of committed and skilled individuals who have consistently encouraged me to reach my full potential. So far, during my time at ODE, I have designed structural steel elements for an offshore topside project, located in the North Sea, West of Shetland, travelled to Paris where I was responsible for creating pipe support standards, and worked on behalf of the client as a technical advisor for an offshore wind farm demonstration project in the USA’s Great Lakes. These are just a few examples of the exciting work I have been involved with, here at ODE.”
David Huynh – Graduate Civil Structural Engineer
"Working at ODE has provided me with some really good experiences and opportunities. I started working on a project from day one and was able to use my knowledge gained at University. The opportunities of working at ODE are vast: I have gained experience at a manufacturing yard where I got to witness the construction of an Offshore platform. I then had the opportunity to visit it when it had been installed in the North Sea, West of Shetland, supporting the offshore commissioning team. I’ve also been on a 9-month secondment to our Great Yarmouth office where I gained experience with the operations side of ODE and assisted with management of change for three offshore platforms. This included site visits, requiring Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET), where I got to experience first-hand a fully functioning operational platform. I have now been with ODE for over three years and I feel like I am part of a very talented & friendly team."
Qasid Ahmad, Graduate Electrical Engineer
"I started work with ODE after graduating and have found my time here to be very fulfilling and rewarding.
ODE has given me the opportunity to explore many different aspects of engineering, from the technical development of designs to the management of projects. During my time at ODE I have gained a wealth of experience and been fortunate to work on numerous projects, across multiple energy sectors, at locations all over the world.
I briefly spent time in Paris on secondment working on a Floating Production Unit and to a drill rig design company, both of which gave me invaluable knowledge. I have also spent time in South Korea at one of the largest shipping construction yards in the world, this was during the construction engineering phase of the project which enabled me to see the design coming to realisation.
ODE has provided me with the training and confidence to progress my career in engineering."
