Junior Electrical Engineer - London

We currently have an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer based in our London Office.

The Role

Support project work related to Renewables development and Oil & Gas, both onshore and offshore.

Under instruction of a lead/principal engineer undertake design and engineering work and applies subject matter in-depth knowledge to provide high end technical support. Some independent judgment required in the collection, assembly and preliminary determination of engineering data, initiate design documents and calculations.

Scope of Responsibilities

As engineer it is required to perform the following :

  • Produce Calculations & Reports.
  • Flexible to varying tasks as instructed by Lead Engineer/Chief engineer.
  • Be responsible for issuing documentation through DCC process.
  • Be the originator of data sheets, specifications and other documentation.
  • Liaise with relevant disciplines.

Competencies & Soft Skills

  • Desirable: experience of a Power System Modelling Platform (i.e. DIgSILENT, ERACS, ETAP, IPSA or SKM Power Tools)
  • Understanding of Electrical Systems (Power Distribution, Transmission, Lighting, Earthing, Power Generation), Motors and Transformers, Cable Sizing, Power System Studies, UPS & Batteries.

Sr Process Engineer - Great Yarmouth

We currently have an opportunity for a Sr Process Engineer based in our Great Yarmouth Office on a contract basis.

The Role

To join the process engineering department and work across a range of oil and gas related projects, from conceptual studies through FEED to detail design.  This will include both greenfield and brownfield engineering for offshore and onshore facilities.

Scope of Responsibilities

The engineer will be expected to work independently on several multi-discipline work scopes, or as a member of a larger process team under guidance from the lead process engineer.

 

Required experience should specifically include:

  • Working on upstream oil and gas projects, including offshore facilities.
  • Creating and developing HYSYS process simulation models.
  • Familiarity with upstream oil and gas treatment processes and utilities.
  • Preparation of process flow diagrams and heat and mass balances.
  • Specification of process equipment and data sheet preparation.
  • Producing piping hydraulic calculations and system pressure rating.
  • Knowledge of process control and shutdown systems.
  • Supervision of junior process engineers

Responsibilities will include:

  • Basis of Design development.
  • Creation of HYSYS simulation models and heat and mass balances.
  • Specification of process systems including control schemes.
  • Development of data sheets and equipment lists.
  • Development of PFDs and P&IDs.
  • Preparation of study reports.
  • Liaison with other multi-discipline team members.
  • Inputs to HAZID and HAZOP reviews.
  • Presentations of study work and conclusions.
  • Managing a small process team

Asset Support Manager - Great Yarmouth

We currently have an opportunity for an Asset Support Manager based in our Great Yarmouth Office on a staff basis.

The Role

The position is responsible for the management of maintenance and integrity on offshore installations.

The key aims of the role are :

  • Effectively managing risks, in particular MAH’s offshore.
  • Working closely with key stakeholders: Clients, OIM’s, Suppliers, Engineering, Logistics, and Regulatory Bodies, Independent Verification Body and specialist external consultants and suppliers.
  • Achieving key performance indicators in relation to SHEQ, Asset integrity, maintenance, people management, finance and commercial.
  • Lead operational readiness for new assets.
  • To be a participative member on the Major Accident Hazard Board (MAHB).

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of maintenance and integrity Team resources.
  • Manages timely completion of ongoing verification activities.
  • Achieve or exceed client minimum asset performance standards.
  • Maintain compliance with ODE Change Management procedures.
  • Maintain and update integrated work plans.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of ODE’s systems and working practices.
  • Provide weekly work allocation and resource utilisation within the onshore Team.
  • Facilitate the availability of all maintenance and intervention related resources essential to achieving asset integrity, meeting optimum operation of the facilities and maintaining value of the assets.
  • Maintain Long-term resource planning in conjunction with the Maintenance and Integrity team.
  • Liaison with ODE Engineering Department to ensure all modifications are effected within agreed period.
  • Regular liaison with OIMs to ensure adequate offshore resources, progress and issue updates and to maintain two-way communication.
  • Implement annual in-house audits of systems and working practices to review their continued effectiveness.

Production and Efficiency

  • Ensure that activities are managed within timescales and cost to meet contractual obligations and objectives.
  • Avoid waste by education and instruction.
  • Maximise the productivity of resources, capital and other business resources.

Organisation and Resources

  • Ensure qualified competent personnel and resources to meet current and future operating requirements in a safe manner.
  • Ensure personnel complete Personal Competence Profiles and remain up to date.
  • Ensure that all employees are fully aware of the company’s Business Code of Conduct, Safety standards and expected safety behaviours.
  • Maintain a regular appraisal and performance review system to monitor the performance of all subordinates and ensuring that the utilisation of individuals is maximised.

Finance and Commercial

  • Responsible for preparing and submitting budgets, forecasts, Monthly Reports and other plans/forecasts and programmes as required.
  • Manage budgetary performance within delegated areas of financial responsibility.
  • Continual review operations/engineering expenditure with the aim of increasing efficiency and reduction of costs.

  • Responsible for SHEQ activities and implementation of the ODE’s ASEMS offshore.
  • Responsible for the management, control, monitoring and review of SECE’s.
  • Leading by example to maintain a strong SHEQ culture through visible safety leadership.
  • Ensuring sufficient capability and competence of third party suppliers and staff to deliver operations, maintenance and integrity management.
  • Ensure the implementation of adequate Health, Safety and Environmental work practices, procedures and methods to meet all statutory requirements and the Company SHEQ Management System.
  • Monitor performance against the SHEQ plan for progress and improvements in SHEQ performance.

Qualifications

Management/Leadership Qualification - Preferable Professionally Registered Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with experience in a relevant Discipline (i.e. Structural, Civil, Marine, Mechanical or Materials). Professional Membership of a recognised engineering body and evidence of ongoing Continued Professional Development

The Role

The key aims of the role are : Project management of initially oil and gas scopes of work ranging from conceptual scopes through to detailed design.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing technical bid proposals (onshore & offshore), supporting and providing assistance to secure new work scope project opportunities
  • Responsible for interpreting the contract and workscope requirements and to define the project requirements/deliverables.
  • Represent ODE and be responsible for communication between ODE and the Client. Represent the Client in dealings with outside organisations as required under the workscope
  • Responsible for all aspects of the project i.e. project management including cost and schedule, safety, engineering, procurement and sub-contracts and quality assurance.
  • Responsible for co-ordination and supervision of all contracts with outside organisations connected with the project such as Fabricators, Installation contractors, consultants, suppliers, inspection and certification bodies.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the project team conforms to the Project Safety Plan
  • Ensure that the Project Quality Plan and the specific quality practices are implemented.
  • Responsible for the issue of all reports as defined in the contract.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the interim and final valuations and invoices in respect of the project are correctly compiled and submitted to the client in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for identifying and timely notification to the Company Management and Client the contractual or commercial implications of any variations to the contract and subsequently the agreement of such variations with the client.
  • Responsible for project approval of all project documents (procedures, standards, specifications, requisitions, calculations and drawings etc.) before issue to the client or other organisations.
  • Responsible for the day to day administration of the Project.
