Background

Lynn and Inner Dowsing Offshore Windfarms are part of the UKCS Round 1 developments. They are two neighbouring 30-turbine developments that have been combined into one construction project by Centrica Renewable Energy Limited.

Both are located off the East Lincolnshire coast –

• Lynn – 5.2 km offshore Skegness
• Inner Dowsing - 5.2 km offshore Ingoldmells

Scope of Work

Based on the extensive knowledge and experience gained during the provision of the Project Management Services contract for the Scroby Sands Offshore Windfarm, ode was awarded this contract by Centrica to assist them in obtaining the best value from the Lynn and Inner Dowsing offshore windfarm development.

This is seen to relate in particular to the construction, offshore installation, commissioning/start-up activities and subsequent operations and maintenance phase of the project.

The contract scope is currently for the initial period of the development and allows for the provision of consultancy and technical services drawing from ode’s in-house pool of specialists in this field. This is to be undertaken on an ad-hoc/call off basis and the work scope may include any or all of the following aspects:

• Review and comment of the invitation to tender contractual, commercial and technical documentation.
• Assistance to Centrica during the bid evaluation process.
• Response to specific technical queries.
• Provision of specialist technical resources.
• Access to ode “in-house” knowledge base.
