Detailed Description :

Background

Shore base gas receiving / metering terminal in Cote D’Ivoire, West Africa.

Scope of Work

Services provided comprised :

  • Project Management.
  • Site surveys and assessment of local contractors.
  • Front End Engineering.
  • Detail design and specification.
  • Procurement of all equipment and fabrication.
  • Subsequent terminal modifications to enable the tie-in of the Baobab development.

The site comprised a walled compound with all utilities, including

  • A control room with emergency generators,
  • Inlet and outlet pipelines.
  • Metering house and gas processing facilites.

The front end design phase also included negotiations with the local government officials for metering requirements and the local utility companies for electrical supply and telecommunications requirements.

The detail design included the specification and purchase, expediting and testing of all equipment and the fabrication of all piping spools for shipment to the Ivory Coast. The pipe spools were laser surveyed at our local fabrication shop to ensure a one fit installation. Construction of the Terminal was completed in October 2002.

As part of the overall workscope ode designed a pelton wheel powered generator skid which used injection water as motive power for the wellhead tower. ode also reviewed the back end process design of the offshore vessel to ensure compliance with transportation requirements.

Following the previous works outlined above, a contract variation was initiated in 2004 to cover the Terminal modifications to enable the tie-in of the Baobab development. This included project management, detail design, procurement, preparation of cost estimates, scheduling for the construction phase and supervision of site construction activities which is planned to be undertaken during the first quarter of 2005.
