Project Description: |
Wind Farm & Gas Field Development with Co-generation Wind / Gas potential. |
Location: |
Baltic Sea N.W of Helgoland (Germany) |
Services Provided: |
Engineering Consultancy/Feasibility Study |
Detailed Description:
Background
Helgoland is proposing to develop a large Wind Farm in the same location as a significant gas field development..
Wind Energy scheme :
- 200 (+) no. 3.6 MW turbines in 4 groups
- 25-35 m water depth
- 145-220 kv grid connection
Gas Field
- 18-20 billion m3 from 6-20 well production platform.
Scope of Work
ode was contracted to undertake a preliminary review addressing the feasibility of the potential development. This review identified the main issues and requirements for both the Windfarm and Gas field elements of the project, plus the implications of joint development and co-generation requirements. The primary issues considered included -
Typical gas field facilities
- New Platform : type, size, facilities etc [possible 6-20 wells]
- Subsea architecture
- Development constraints if wind farm installed first
- Installation and operations
CAPEX Estimate
- Drilling
- Platform
- 30km Pipeline & subsea facilities
Electricity production and other synergies
- Operational synergies
- Joint gas & transformer platform
- Step-out wells on wind turbine structures
- Electricity production from gas
- Optimisation considerations for joint development
The field would be developed in several phase as show below in a preliminary field layout diagram.
