Detailed Description :
The Burlington Rivers Development comprises–
- Offshore Gas Production Platform (Calder)
- Subsea Wells & Flowlines (Crossans & Darwin)
- Offshore Gas Pipelines 43km (24” + 3.5”)
- Onshore Gas Pipelines 6km (Walney Island to Terminal)
- New Gas Sweetening Terminal
Schedule
The minimum facilities platform was installed in 2003 with production start-up in early 2004. The fields (Calder, Crossans and Darwin) are believed to contain between 350 and 400 bcf of natural gas and are expected to reach an output of about 120 million scf/d at peak production. The total project duration is approximately 4 years commencing in 2001 with completion scheduled for 2004.
ode was appointed as the project management services contractor/client engineer to Burlington Resources Ltd. for the development and specifically undertook the following activities:
Project Management
- Facilities Engineering (Platform & Pipeline): Initial contractor selection, subsequent supervision of all aspects of the design from initial studies through front end engineering to detail design.
- Platform Construction at the Teesside Fabrication yard: Resident as construction superintendent throughout all phases of the construction through to sail away of the minimum facilities platform.
- Onshore Gas Sweetening Plant: Initial contractor selection through planning consents, site development, construction, commissioning and handover of the facilities at North Morecambe.
- Platform and Pipeline Installation: Offshore supervision during all phases of installation of the minimum facilities platform, subsea facilities, inter-field connecting pipelines and export pipeline through to hook-up commissioning and eventual start-up.
Project HS&E
(Including Consents and Compliance)ode was responsible for overseeing all aspects of HS & E through the course of the project in this particularly environmentally sensitive area to the extent that construction schedule takes regard of bird migratory patterns.
Project QA / QC Input
ode was responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality associated with the Rivers Development; this covers both procedural aspects and eventual certification.
