Job Description

Leading the Operations function, you'll have full accountability of running the daily operational execution and be accountable for delivering project operations and in line with Client and Company standards and expectations ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. You will also manage the personnel skill pool to maintain the required resources for delivering projects and oversee the operation of company assets to ensure that they are in an appropriate state of readiness

The Role:

The position will initially be a key member of the ODEAM team providing technical and operations management for the client owned assets. The role is responsible for the day to day operations management of offshore operations.

The key aims of the role are:

  • Ensure operational excellence throughout the operations phase
  • Supporting the management of risks, including MAHs offshore
  • Working closely with key stakeholders: Clients, OIMs, Suppliers, Engineering, Logistics, Regulatory Bodies, Independent Verification Body and specialist external consultants and suppliers.
  • Overall management of the assets and responsible for achieving key performance indicators in relation to SHEQ, Asset integrity, maintenance, production, people management, finance and commercial
  • Maintaining performance of the offshore operational team
  • Maintaining logistics support requirements

Scope of Responsibilities:

General Responsibilities

  • Implementation of the Asset Management Strategy and Plans
  • Ensure asset is operated in compliance the Safety Case
  • Day-to-day interaction with operations support, integrity, and maintenance team resources
  • Monitoring of daily production and reporting of NUI producing assets
  • Ensure contractual requirements are fully adhered with
  • Achieve or exceed client minimum asset performance expectations
  • Maintain compliance with operational performance standards
  • Maintain compliance with change management procedures
  • Ensure continuous improvement of ODEAM's systems and working practices
  • Ensure the availability of all maintenance and intervention related resources essential to achieving asset integrity, meeting optimum operation of the facilities and maintaining value of the assets
  • Maintain long-term resource planning in conjunction with the maintenance and integrity team
  • Liaison with ODE engineering department to ensure all modifications are affected within agreed period
  • Regular liaison with OIMs to ensure adequate offshore resources, progress and issue updates and to maintain two-way communication
  • Implement offshore audits in line with annual SHEQ plans

Production and Efficiency

  • Ensure that activities are managed within timescales and cost to meet contractual obligations and objectives
  • Avoid waste by education, coaching, and instruction
  • Maximise the productivity of resources, capital and other business resources

Organisation and Resources

  • Ensure qualified competent personnel and resources to meet current and future operating requirements in a safe manner
  • Ensure personnel complete Personal Competence Profiles and remain up to date
  • Ensure that all employees are fully aware of the company's Business Code of Conduct, Safety standards and expected safety behaviours
  • Maintain a regular appraisal and performance review system to monitor the performance of all subordinates and ensuring that the utilisation of individuals is maximised

Finance and Commercial

  • Responsible for preparing and submitting budgets, forecasts, monthly reports and other plans/forecasts and programmes as required
  • Manage budgetary performance within delegated areas of financial responsibility
  • Continual review of operations/engineering expenditure with the aim of increasing efficiency and reduction of costs
  • Continually seek additional business opportunities
  • Ensure that ODEAM is not exposed to undue financial or contractual risk

Safety, Health, Environment and Quality

  • Contribute to SHEQ activities and lead by example to maintain a strong SHEQ culture through visible safety leadership
  • Responsible for ensuring ODEAM full compliance to all applicable legislation in respect to Installation and Pipeline Operator responsibilities.
  • Supports the management, control, monitoring and review of Major accident hazards in full compliance with the CMAPP and MAMB
  • Ensuring sufficient capability and competence of third party suppliers and staff to deliver operations management, where applicable
  • Ensure the implementation of adequate Health, Safety and Environmental work practices, procedures and methods to meet all statutory requirements and the Company SHEQ Management System
  • Monitor performance against the SHEQ plan for progress and improvements in SHEQ performance
  • Liaise with Contractors, ICP, Logistics, Regulatory Officials and stakeholders to maintain communication as required
  • Participate in accident and incident investigations as required
  • Form part of the Emergency Response team as required by the Company Emergency Response Procedures

  • Previous experience and knowledge of contract management for offshore operations
  • Experience in developing and maintaining systems and procedures to facilitate operational readiness and ongoing operational excellence
  • Experience in a range of technical, supervisory and management roles
  • Experience and knowledge of offshore gas production, process & utility systems
  • Experience in production planning, forecasting and optimisation
  • Experience in managing Health, Safety and Environmental matters, complying with legislation
  • Experience managing budgets, negotiating with clients and suppliers and managing commercial risks
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the ODEAM and client organisations
  • Ability to think strategically as well as managing day to day operations
  • Focal point for liaison with regulatory authorities such as HSE, OGA and BEIS
  • MIST, Offshore Survival (BOSIET/FOET), Medical Certificate including ER Medical Assessment and secondary means of escape training i.e. Donut.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills; accurately assess strengths and limitations of individuals, leverages their abilities and effectively delegates responsibility
  • Demonstrable knowledge of MAHs, Business, Integrity, Maintenance, Commercial and Legislative principles in direct correlation to the Oil and Gas industry
  • Demonstrates safety and performance leadership; "walks the talk", demonstrates high energy levels and commitment, and leads the team by example
  • Thinks clearly & stays focused in complex, unpredictable and stressful situations, deals effectively with pressure and effectively manages risks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proactively encourages high performance and continuous improvement, and recognises success
  • Strong IT literacy in Microsoft Office applications
  • Full and valid driving licence
  • Flexible and able to travel for meetings, training courses etc

Qualifications:

Degree level or higher in a core engineering discipline - Preferable

Offshore Operational Qualification - OIM level Preferable

Management/Leadership Qualification - Preferable

Health and Safety Qualification - Desirable
