We currently have an opportunity for a Project Manager – Renewables based in our London Office on a Staff basis.

The Role

This is a strategic position within ODE’s growing Renewables Division. You will be joining a fast-paced, dynamic organisation with vast experience in offshore industries and in particular a growing portfolio of Offshore Wind projects globally.

Scope of Responsibilities

• Run large renewable scopes of work
• Responsible for all technical and commercial aspects of the project
• Represent ODE and be responsible for communication between ODE and the Client
• Ensure that the Project Quality Plan and the specific quality practices, resources and sequence of activities listed are identified, and implemented.
• Arrange with the Management for required in-house resources to be made available
• Responsible for regular internal and external reporting
• Ensure that invoices are correctly compiled and submitted to the client in a timely manner.
• Identification and timely notification to the Company Management and Client the contractual or commercial implications of any variations to the contract and subsequently the agreement of such variations with the client.
• Co-ordination and supervision of all contracts with outside organisations connected with the project such as consultants, suppliers, sub-contractors, inspection and certification authorities.
• Project approval of all project documents (procedures, standards, specifications, requisitions, calculations and drawings etc.) before issue to the client or other organisations.
• Responsible for ensuring the correct compilation, distribution and archiving of the closeout project documentation.
• Lead new business proposals for offshore wind farm projects.
• Meeting with and presenting to potential clients, partners and industry leaders to promote the services of ODE.
• Responsible for the cost, time and resource estimates, detailed technical proposal write-ups and proposals completion

Competencies & Soft Skills

  • Construction and Installation experience in offshore wind
  • Good understanding of contracts
  • Knowledgeable (but not necessarily expert) across whole spectrum of offshore wind
  • Interest and availability to work long term in the far east at a future date an advantage

Qualifications

MEng or equivalent in relevant engineering topic. Chartered Engineer status

Senior WTG Engineer

Contract Type: Permanent

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior WTG Engineer based in London on a Staff basis.

The Role

The key aims of the role are:

  • Able to function in a project team as WTG Project Engineer or as WTG Package Manager in large offshore wind development projects
  • Lead smaller offshore wind studies
  • Lead on compiling technical proposals and cost estimate for new business
  • Identify new business opportunities and support business development as appropriate
  • Lead teams and mentor/ guide junior engineers

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Good knowledge of offshore WTG technology and implementation to various work scopes
  • Lead scopes associated with offshore wind development projects in areas such as wind measurement campaigns, energy yield assessments, field layout optimisation, interface management, risk identification etc
  • Lead the Invitation to Tender process as package manager from both technical and commercial angle for WTG packages
  • Lead technical and commercial negotiations with preferred suppliers
  • Actively contribute into the development of offshore wind development business case
  • Present technical and commercial solutions
  • Familiar with all early works required to execute scoped for large offshore wind developments in development (pre-FEED and FEED), construction and commissioning phases
  • Interfacing with certification authorities and managing iteration process between WTG and foundation design
  • Lead meeting and workshops
  • Leading cost estimates and new proposals in conjunction with ODE’s management team

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Candidate will be responsible for production of drawings (Auto CAD.)

  • Proactive involvement with all disciplines to develop optimum design solutions

We currently have an opportunity for a Project Engineer based in Great Yarmouth on a Staff basis.

The Role

Project Engineer for projects in Great Yarmouth to provide operations readiness support to IOG contract managers.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate multi-discipline engineering activities for concurrent oil and gas projects from ODE’s Great Yarmouth office. Projects will primarily be operational readiness for onshore and offshore facilities in the UK
  • Responsible for ensuring operations systems are developed in accordance with ODE, Client and International Standards.
  • Coordinate multi-discipline project teams to develop and implement fit for purpose scopes which are delivered safely in accordance with the project schedule, agreed budgets, and completion dates.
  • Represent the company and act as focal point with clients for all project activities including providing project progress updates
  • Manage scope, cost & schedule changes for each phase
  • Conduct offshore / site surveys as required
  • Manage project risks and coordinate all mitigation activities to address the risks
  • Consolidate and agree scopes of work with clients and support the preparation of proposals, detailed cost estimates and project schedules
  • Ensure work is planned and executed safely and in line with ODE’s SHEQ policy
  • Deputise for the contract manager as required

 

Operations Interface Activities

Support the Project Manager and Contract Manager with Operational Readiness activities and Operational input to the project during design including:

  • Assist in developing the scope and plan for all operational readiness activities
  • Produce / input to technical documents and key philosophies during both the design & operational readiness phases of the project.
  • Provide and co-ordinate operational input to the project design including review of key design documentation and attendance at HAZOPs, model reviews, and safety assessments etc.
  • Assist in development of maintenance & integrity policies, strategies and routines. Ensure project delivers the appropriate information to enable population of the maintenance database.
  • Provide and co-ordinate operational input to construction and pre-commissioning activities in the fabrication yard as required.
  • Provide and co-ordinate input to the hook-up, commissioning and start-up plan and activities
