Regional Operations Manager (East Asia)

We currently have an opportunity for a Regional Operations Manager based in East Asia on a Staff basis.

The Role

Looking to hire a Regional Manager to help manage current offshore wind business, assess and develop market and partnership strategies required to garner a leading market share and visibility for the company in the market. As a Regional Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of effectiveness and efficiency within assigned territory by developing business and market strategies to drive growth and profitability, engage and motivate employees, ensure employees are in the right positions, provide sales leadership and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement, in cooperation with the local team, a plan to aggregate a large pipeline of offshore wind projects in the local market. This would include both licensed projects and non-licensed “net metering” projects.
  • Lead the overall coordination of the development steps and requirements for all projects including land acquisition, permitting, deal experience with strong financial structuring knowledge and regulatory compliance
  • Lead the preparation of tender documents and proposals for wind project bids – both within the government’s program and with commercial entities interested in renewable energy.
  • Manage negotiations with tender/proposal partners and counterparties
  • Support external (3rd party) development activities. Identify, negotiate with and engage local and regional development partners
  • Set up, in cooperation with other departments, financial models, calculate project economics, and document the development status of projects
  • Business Development, lead the internal approval process and presentation to investment committees
  • Ability to connect with local developer communities and other communities near the project area
  • To negotiate and deal with the Land agents and Government agencies to ensure that the necessary land is acquired within the time frame with proper title and in a cost-effective manner within the agreed budgets、
  • Strategically design and implement operational and sales-driven excellence to deliver business results
  • Execute plans within the market to achieve maximum sales and profit potential
  • Develop and implement strategic plans, consistent with and appropriate to the accomplishment of long range established objectives
  • Recognize and capitalize on industry and market trends.
  • To keep the management team posted of the risks involved in every stage of the land procurement and approval process and suggest necessary remedial measures to overcome any possible hurdles.
  • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with clients, the government, and other strategic partners

 

Competencies & Soft Skills

  • Business/ Project Development experience of 5 years + in the power infrastructure sector in the region (Experience in  Wind Energy Development )
  • Know-how of the local Electricity Sector, (Generation, Distribution, or Power Purchase Agreements). Business Experience and Network of Contacts in the country is a plus
  • Should strong in Organic or In-Organic Project Development and proven track record in managing growth ( Pipeline to Backlog )
  • Experience in leading or playing a major role in significant commercial transactions with senior stakeholders. Strong contractual and negotiations experience as well as creativity for deal making
  • Structured thinker. Strong analytical capability and appreciation of risk versus reward. Good understanding of project financials/ financial models
  • Ability to work independently in the day to day activities through in close cooperation and coordination with regional headquarters
  • Experience in interacting and managing relationships with partners and clients. Experience in relating to government officials and government departments
  • Flexible work attitude and ability to enter other projects and add value. Ability to manage shifting priorities and work with decentralized teams in an international environment
  • Understand East Asian marketplace, familiar with local energy policy and regulations.
  • Bilingual in either Japanese, Mandarin, Korean or Vietnamese ,must speak English on a business level.

 

Qualifications

Degree qualified, with extensive experience in offshore wind farm development or Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Marketing or related field. In lieu of degree, willing to accept appropriate additional years of relevant experience. Significant experience in concept, FEED and detail design projects is a distinct advantage. Preferred Chartered Engineer status

We currently have an opportunity for a Project Engineering Manager based in London on a Staff basis.

The Role

Hands on project engineering/technical management of medium sized (£1M-£10M engineering) oil and gas scopes of work, ranging from FEED through to Detailed Design.

Experience:

  • Previous experience of running facility related, FEED and/or Detailed Design of oil and gas projects, from the contractor side of project delivery is essential

  • Exposure to both offshore and onshore oil and gas projects

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Interpretation of client needs and drivers to deliver optimised solutions and project outcomes

  • Ability to apply strong knowledge of oil and gas practises and processes to sense check deliverables, resourcing and scheduling activities

  • Provide input into technical bid proposals, and assist in securing new workscopes and project opportunities

  • Apply or account for contractual terms and conditions into the execution and management of the project.

  • Represent ODE, and be responsible for, communication and interface management between ODE, the Client, and key stakeholders

  • Accountable for all project aspects including cost, schedule, safety, engineering, technical excellence, procurement, sub-contracts and quality assurance

  • Responsible for the timely issue of all reporting (external & internal)

  • Accountable for the financial performance of the project, and ensuring prompt invoicing of the works.

  • Responsible for identifying and timely notification to the Company Management and Client, the contractual or commercial implications of any variations to the contract, and subsequently the agreement of such variations with the Client.

  • Accountable for approval of all project documents

  • Responsible for the day to day administration of the Project and management/direction of the project team

Principal Instrumnet Engineer

We currently have an opportunity for a Principal Instrument Engineer based in London on a Staff basis.

The Role

To supervise and train staff in the issue and prepare and update of instrumentation deliverables. The candidate may have particular experience in green field and brown field engineering of offshore O&G facilities, ICSS, field Instrumentation, fire and gas systems or other related areas but should be capable of contributing to many areas as part of a small project team. Capable of originating documentation and working with minimum supervision and external input

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Perform specific role within the discipline/project team.

  • Review of complete system P&ID’s etc.

  • Input, management and control of the Instrument Index, cable schedule and derived deliverables for project.

  • Specify the Instrumentation and/or interface for new platforms including facilities on existing platforms (brownfield engineering and legacy systems).

  • Liaise with relevant disciplines ensuring that the instrumentation is correctly specified.

  • Prepare calculations to support design.

  • Vendor print review.

  • Contribute to HAZOP and SIL reviews, Package management and Package Control Interface specification (e.g. serial/ Modbus/ Profibus/ethernet links).

Instrument engineer, with experience as an instrument/controls engineer in the oil and gas industry for offshore projects. Candidates should have:
