We currently have an opportunity for a Senior WTG Engineer based in London on a Staff basis.

The Role

The key aims of the role are:

  • Able to function in a project team as WTG Project Engineer or as WTG Package Manager in large offshore wind development projects
  • Lead smaller offshore wind studies
  • Lead on compiling technical proposals and cost estimate for new business
  • Identify new business opportunities and support business development as appropriate
  • Lead teams and mentor/ guide junior engineers

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Good knowledge of offshore WTG technology and implementation to various work scopes
  • Lead scopes associated with offshore wind development projects in areas such as wind measurement campaigns, energy yield assessments, field layout optimisation, interface management, risk identification etc
  • Lead the Invitation to Tender process as package manager from both technical and commercial angle for WTG packages
  • Lead technical and commercial negotiations with preferred suppliers
  • Actively contribute into the development of offshore wind development business case
  • Present technical and commercial solutions
  • Familiar with all early works required to execute scoped for large offshore wind developments in development (pre-FEED and FEED), construction and commissioning phases
  • Interfacing with certification authorities and managing iteration process between WTG and foundation design
  • Lead meeting and workshops
  • Leading cost estimates and new proposals in conjunction with ODE’s management team

Supply Chain Manager

We currently have an opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager based in Aberdeen (preferred)/ Great Yarmouth on a Staff basis.

The Role

Responsible for the effective sourcing, negotiating, procuring and contracting of all operations and project services, material and equipment for ODE AM.

The key aims of the role are:

  • Ensuring an efficient, robust and effective Supply Chain for ODE AM and its Clients for its Duty Holder and Operations & Maintenance contracts.
  • Effectively manage risks during the Supply Chain process to ensure Safety or Environmentally critical equipment is are delivered offshore in a timely manner and to the correct specification.
  • Ensuring procurement is in accordance with our Business Code of Conduct, legislative requirements and industry guidance/best practice.
  • Managing and building collaboration in the Supply Chain including alignment of contractual risks and compliance with ODE AM Client contractual requirements.
  • Management of the ODE AM electronic procurement system and compliance.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Seek strategic and tactical advantages in the supply chain, including management of preferred suppliers, collaborations and Frame Agreements.
  • Effectively manage the Supply Chain Team function across ODE AM. Functional interface responsibility with other ODE Group companies for procurement process and policy alignment.
  • Provide input into the selection of appropriate vendors for the bid lists utilising auditable tools and experience.
  • Ensure that all sets of specifications, documents and data are complete and are legible and meet the requirements for a potential supplier to provide the required information.
  • Analyse, as required, the commercial parts of the tender, present a comparison and provide substantiated and auditable recommendations.
  • Maintain data base log of all vendors and the work they have bid for/won.
  • Update the Supplier database and provide a record of their actual performance.
  • Assist in developing improvements to the management and control of purchased items to meet KPI performance needs.
  • Perform all work in accordance with the Business Management procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality in respect of the information obtained by the tendering process from the client and vendors.
  • Provide regular updates on delivery, cashflow, invoices etc. for the purchased items and their delivery status.
  • Oversee and coordinate any expediting or post contract award activities to ensure the correct and timely delivery of product or service. This will include liaison with Technical, Quality Assurance and HSE.

Production and Efficiency

  • Ensure that activities are managed within timescales and cost to meet contractual obligations and objectives.
  • Avoid waste by education and instruction.
  • Maximise the productivity of resources, capital and other business resources.

Organisation and Resources

  • Ensure qualified competent personnel and resources to meet current and future operating requirements in a safe manner.
  • Understand business needs, projects and contracts and interpret appropriate resource requirements to meet needs and be efficient.
  • Set the personal standard for compliance with the Code of Conduct and interface with the ODE Group Compliance Officer for any concerns.
  • Ensure that employees (and Contactors where applicable) are fully aware of the company’s Code of Conduct, Safety standards and expected safety behaviours.
  • Maintain a regular appraisal and performance review system to monitor the performance of all subordinates and ensuring that the utilisation of individuals is maximised.

Finance and Commercial

  • Responsible for preparing and managing supplier contracts in accordance with ODE Group requirements, Client Contracts and Industry best practice.
  • Interfacing and providing cashflow and finance information to ODE AM and ODE Group Finance departments on financial commitments and manage accordingly.
  • Understanding and advising Regional/Contract/Project Managers on any contractual risks and impact on comparison between bids.
  • Compliance with any ODE AM or ODE Group contractual risk profile and referral to Commercial team if outside of this profile.
  • Responsible for the issuance of purchase orders in line with the Delegation of Authority.
  • Ensure that the Company is not exposed to undue financial or contractual risk.

Safety, Health, Environment and Quality

  • Responsible for communicating ODE AM SHEQ expectations to suppliers relevant to the services/materials/equipment being procured.
  • Responsible for communicating to contractors and adhering to the relevant section of the Safety Case and the ASEMS.
  • Ensure that Major accident hazards are taken into account during the procurement process, in particular procurement related to SECE’s.
  • Leading by example to maintain a strong SHEQ culture through visible safety behaviours.
  • Ensuring sufficient capability and competence of third party suppliers and staff to deliver activities in support of operations, maintenance and integrity management.
  • Ensure the implementation of adequate Health, Safety and Environmental work practices, procedures and methods to meet all statutory requirements and the Company SHEQ Management System.
  • Monitor performance against the SHEQ plan for progress and improvements in SHEQ performance.
  • Liaise with Contractors, ICP, Logistics, Regulatory Officials and stakeholders to maintain communication as required.
  • Participate in accident and incident investigations as required.
  • Form part of the Emergency Response team as required by the Company Emergency Response Procedures.

Competencies & Soft Skills

  • Extensive experience in managing Oil & Gas supply chain activities (preferably at Operator level) including procurement, warehouse, contracts and logistics (Aviation and Marine contracts)
  • Knowledge of procuring items for SECE’s and the importance in relation to managing Major Accident Hazards and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience managing and leading multi-disciplined teams and simultaneous operations/projects.
  • Experience with Health, Safety and Environmental matters, complying with legislation.
  • Dangerous Goods by Air and Sea certificate preferable
  • Excellent change control and management skills
  • Proven leadership and team management skills; accurately assess strengths and limitations of individuals, leverages their abilities and effectively delegates responsibility.
  • Demonstrable appreciation of Major accident hazards, Business, Integrity, Maintenance, Commercial and Legislative principals in direct correlation to the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Demonstrates safety and performance leadership; “walks the talk”, demonstrates high energy levels and commitment, and leads the team by example.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proactively encourages high performance and continuous improvement, and recognises success.
  • Ability to provide strong analytical skills and to advise and positively influence senior management on appropriate Supply Chain Strategies and ramifications of decisions.
  • Strong IT literacy in Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of procurement systems (Preferably Kore Advantage).
  • Full and valid driving licence.
  • Flexible and able to travel for meetings, training courses etc.

Qualifications

Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Level 4 Qualification or equivalent. Degree level or equivalent in Business/Supply Chain Management - Preferable. Professional Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or equivalent - Preferable. Management/Leadership qualification level 4 minimum - Preferable. Evidence of ongoing supply chain Continued Professional Development.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Candidate will be responsible for production of drawings (Auto CAD.)
  • Drawing of structural and equipment items
  • Other discipline drawing work as required, for example wind farm layout drawings
  • Proactive involvement with all disciplines to develop optimum design solutions
