ODE Group receives 3 awards for health and safety performance from British Safety Council & The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents

28th April, 2020

These awards were given in recognition of the outstanding performances of its subsidiaries, Offshore Design Engineering Ltd (ODE) and ODE Asset Management (ODE AM).

ODE received the Gold Award from The Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) at the Health and Safety Awards. This was ODE’s eleventh consecutive year receiving this award, and as such, ODE was further qualified to receive the prestigious President’s Award.

Operating globally, ODE provides technical services such as consultancy, engineering, procurement, project management, and construction support to the oil and gas and renewables industries. Through receipt of this award, ODE has been recognised as working in compliance with RoSPA’s global vision of life, free from serious accidental injury.

Julia Small, Head of Qualifications, Awards and Events at RoSPA, noted “RoSPA wants every employee, wherever they are, to work safe in the knowledge that they will be going home unharmed and healthy at the end of every day. The RoSPA Award winners are vital to help achieve this goal”.

In order to win a Gold Award, ODE had to meet criteria such as possessing a well-developed safety management system and company culture, as well as displaying an outstanding control of risk.

ODE’s safety record received further accolade at the 62nd International Safety Awards, hosted by the British Safety Council, where ODE received a Merit Award. This award was received as part of the event’s work to identify and celebrate organisations globally who have demonstrated a dedication to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill-health.

At the same awards, ODE Asset Management, now a standalone subsidiary from ODE, was also recognised with a Merit Award for its commitment to personnel and workplace safety. ODE AM delivers operational, production and Duty Holder services for clients’ assets, overseeing installation, the full production lifecycle and transition of assets into decommissioning.

Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, commended ODE AM and ODE on their achievements and recognised the companies’ “commitment and efforts to keep their employees and workplaces free of injury and ill health”.

Paul Fox, ODE Group’s Head of SHEQ and HR, commented on the three awards, “ODE Group is extremely proud of the achievements of its two subsidiaries. We have worked hard to create a robust health, safety and welfare management foundation across ODE Group, and we are pleased that our efforts are being recognised by prestigious institutions such as the British Safety Council and the Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents.”

“We are determined to work to the highest industry standards of health and safety, and we will continue to seek out and implement further improvements wherever possible, enabling our employees and clients to put their utmost trust in us.”
