ODE Asset Management (ODE AM) has participated in the delivery of a second well at IOG plc’s Blythe unmanned gas platform in the UK Southern North Sea.

The Blythe H2 well was successfully and safely brought online on 12 June by the operations team at ODE AM, the platform’s Installation and Pipeline Operator, in collaboration with other contractors working on behalf of IOG plc. Engineering for the topsides was conducted by the wider DORIS Group engineering team.

As Installation and Pipeline Operator, ODE AM supported the design, installation, procurement, construction, hook-up, and commissioning of the H2 well on the Blythe platform. This achievement on the Blythe platform sees ODE AM adding an additional well to its established asset production portfolio in the UKCS.

Neil Westwood, Regional Operations Director (SNS) at ODE Asset Management said, “We are very pleased to have safely completed this scope of work on the Blythe platform on behalf of our client IOG. This additional well will help deliver the requirement to maximise recovery while the industry moves towards the goal of net zero.”

Dougie Scott, COO at IOG plc, said “ODE AM have made an important contribution to the safe hook-up, commissioning and start-up of the Blythe H2 well. We appreciate their ongoing efforts to improve efficiency at Blythe in their capacity as Installation and Pipeline Operator for Saturn Banks.

Getting H2 online safely and within our timing expectations was a very important outcome for IOG, as we continue to strive for operational excellence in safety, reliability and low cost on the Net Zero journey. The ODE AM and IOG teams on and offshore have worked tirelessly to deliver the hook-up and commissioning programme, so on behalf of IOG I would like to thank ODE AM for their diligence and dedication.”
